THE FESTIVAL
School in Motion starts in 2019, as the first International Animation Festival entirely dedicated to education. As part of the National Plan “Cinema for the School”, the event is sponsored by MIUR, MiBACT, Lazio Region, Municipality of Rome, Sapienza University of Rome and IDIS foundation-Città della Scienza.
For the 2021 edition, upon the requests that emerged from the conference of 2019; “Scenarios and perspectives of animation in education”, the festival will provide the opportunity to participate in two different categories:
A – educational animated short film
B – educational non-animated short film
The event will take place at MAXXI, the National Museum of XXI Century Arts in Rome, in 2021 on a date to be agreed (based on the COVID-19 emergency)*
*Unless postponements or cancellations of the event, ordered by Public Authorities for security reasons.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
The videos of both sections must necessarily be dubbed in Italian, have educational/didactic contents that can be used in schools, were made no more than five years prior the date of registration of the work to the Festival; works already presented on previous editions of the School in Motion Festival will not be allowed.
To allow the widest participation in the Contest, each artist can enroll in more than one group, with a maximum of three videos with a maximum total duration of 30 minutes, with a minimum resolution of 1280×720 (720p ).
Designing with a teacher may be the right choice!
SECTION A – Cartoonists, CG artists, video makers, creatives, innovators and experimenters in the field of video animation, professionals or amateurs, who can participate individually or in groups are invited to enroll. The videos can be made with any animation technique (classical, stop motion, 2D or 3D computer graphics, motion capture).
SECTION B – The invitation to participate is aimed at schools, through groups of students and/or teachers, video makers, creatives, fans of special effects and experimenters in the field of video creation, professionals or amateurs, who can participate individually or in a group.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
Registration for the Contest will start online at 12.00 p.m. on 4 November 2019 until 12.00 p.m. on 19 february 2021.

Send an e-mail to info@emi4all.org in which the URL path to download the short film is clearly indicated, accompanied by:
a) three images of the work,
b) INFORMATION SHEET, digitally compiled and attached as a text file (pdf or doc)
c) REGISTRATION FORM completed, signed and scanned,
d) CONSENT TO DATA PROCESSING completed, signed and scanned.

CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION OF OPERATIONS
Each video will be evaluated mainly on the basis of the educational contribution offered, understood in terms of correctness of the contents and educational usefulness for the schools. Furthermore, the expressive quality of the language adopted will be the object of judgment, above all in terms of clarity, the originality and the creative value of the works, as well as the ability to raise the involvement of the students.

TRANSLATION IN ITALIAN
For the translation in Italian School in Motion is at your side and offers you a professional translation service from English to Italian, totally free, by our collaborator Valerio Serpillo. You can submit your script no later than March 31, 2020 to info@emi4all.org attaching a copy of your ID to the translation request.
